There is a business issue between the vendors who partnered on this app, resulting in the WCPL Mobile app being discontinued. Unfortunately, WCPL had no way of anticipating this situation. We are disappointed that we are no longer able to offer the app.
Our vendor has been working on a new mobile app for WCPL. While it is not yet available for general use, they anticipate it will be ready in the next few months.
Going forward, please use our online catalog at https://catalog.wake.gov/. This allows many of the core features of the mobile app to be available on your mobile devices.
What happened with the WCPL Mobile app?
The app's ability to connect to our catalog is broken. Parts of the app may appear to work, but will show old, inaccurate information. For example, you may see items you returned still showing as "checked out" or hold showing "placed" when they're ready for you to pick up.
Can I still use the app on my phone?
No. The app is not functioning properly. You will not be able to search, and your account information, hold and checkouts will be incorrect or outdated.
Is there another app I can use?
There is not another app at this time, but you may use our mobile-friendly online catalog. To access the catalog easily, you can put a shortcut on your homescreen.
How do I add a shortcut to the catalog on my homescreen?
For iPhone or iPad:
- Open Safari. Other browsers, such as Chrome, won't work for this
- Navigate to https://catalog.wake.gov.
- Tap the Share button on the bottom of the page. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing out of the top.
- In the list of options that appear, scroll down until you see Add to Home Screen. Tap this. The Add to Home Screen dialog box will appear.
- Choose a name you'll remember for the website shortcut on your home screen. You'll see the link so you can confirm it, as well as the site's favicon that will appear as the catalog icon on your home screen. Click Add when you're done.
- Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your home screen.
- To go to the catalog, just tap the new shortcut on your home screen. It will open the website in its own navigation window.
For Android:
These instructions are for Chrome. Other browsers will work as well and should have similar steps.
- Navigate to https://catalog.wake.gov.
- Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to home screen.
- Choose a name you'll remember for the website shortcut, then Chrome will add it to your home screen.
