No worries! These things happen. Please call your local library to let staff know about the lost or damaged book. Here's what you need to know:

  • If a WCPL item is lost or damaged, you'll need to pay the replacement cost of the item. Look for any lost items before paying the replacement cost – there are no refunds!
  • We can't accept replacement copies instead of payment.
  • If an Interlibrary Loan item is lost or damaged, you'll need to pay the lending library's fee.

A staff member can help you determine any costs associated with a lost or damaged book and arrange payment. The replacement fee of lost items will also appear on your account after the item ages into a long overdue status. These fees will clear if items are returned to the library.

There are several ways to pay for library replacement fees:

  • Pay online: Follow this link to log in to your library account and pay fees online.
  • Pay by mail: If you prefer to pay by check or money order, visit your library’s service desk for a pre-stamped envelope and payment form.
  • Pay at the library: Fees can be paid by credit card at library pay stations.
  • The online payment portal accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards.
